Hong Kong Chop Chop Attitude

HK ppl do things really very chop chop and fast!

Even after saying that I am abit exhausted and without a change of
t-shirt, the Pure yoga sales lady still ursher me through to the
changing room after offering (and I 'reluctantly' agreeing) her own
clothes for me to change into after my sweaty yoga.

I think it's totally a marketing strategy as I have to come back again
to return her t-shirt and be A by her lah!

Anyway, everything happened in a flash. In the ladies room, I asked
where can I change, her response was 'here! All ladies only!'. *jaw
drop. Luckily, I was wearing a skirt which can easily slip in my pants
and take off the skirt, making no chance to any 'zou-guang'!

It was so rush that she helped me fill my water bottle and asked me
THRICE - "sure? Can't go after the lesson?" when I said I need to pee
before the class.

Omg!

When inside the heat is pretty immense - 38-45degree hot tub, and after
the class, Samatha (Jiaxin's friend) told me we were in the most heated
row!

It was not just the prior lesson process that was hasty and fast, the
class itself was also fast!

I had never done so many poses in an-hour lesson!

The usual holding time in Sg for a particular pose is 10sec or more, esp
since it is a hot yoga, actions tend to be slower and holding on longer.

But in Hk, average holding time is only 5sec!!! Half that of Sg. Doing
the mathes, all else being equal, there will be twice the number of
poses lo! Now you know why I complain it is so fast?!?!

To add to the speed of pose changes, the temperature is several degrees
higher than in Sg, the results?
= Dripping of sweat like nobody's business!!

You can't imagine the litres of sweat expel in that 1hour, making it a
wonderful sport for lazy people like me. Intense one hour and be done
for the week of exercise requirement and detox effect. Haha..

Now to the cost of joining the class.
It cost hkd 700 a month for 7 classes. = hkd 100 per class = sgd 20!
~whopps~

I am not being 'niao' but sgd 20 for 60mins is a little absurd for my
brain to comprehend wor... This rate is the same as what I am getting
paid wor.. How can this be possible?
(I like to think I am poorly paid, so I can scringe on my daily
expenditure!)

Furthermore, after stopping yoga for a good 2-3months, I can still
follow and do most of the poses. *proud
So, why spend this money to continue as the learning curve gets smaller
and smaller mah...

Instead, I am planning to spend the $ on learning a new dance sport -
ballet or even hip hop. Learning something new is always good, isn't it?

I am the kind who prefers to be Jack of all trade than genius in just
one.

This is ingrained in all of us who go through Sg education, isn't it?
Scoring 65 marks for all 4 subjects is better than 120 marks for one and
fail with 49 for the rest!
This is the way we are taught to be and brought up. The effect of carrot
and stick stays on...

Our society doesn't treasure genius. They like mediocre.

Aiyah, it is not that sad as it sounds to be lah.. Being diversified is
never a bad deal. Putting our golden eggs in many baskets. So many old
age sayings to be well rounded, how bad can this concept be right?

Well well, back home to cook dinner and sleep well...

Realized my desire to eat is much reduced after yoga! How good!

But it only last for 1 day. =*( ~boo!
