First concert with Darling in our 6 years of relationship. First concert in Hong Kong Hong Hum Coliseum (hong-kan indoor stadium).
I have no regrets leaving my first concert experience in the hands of MayDay! I am not a big fan of their songs, but I know they have enough songs on topcharts that I can sing along.
Plus, this concert is Darling’s Bday Present for 2010!
I suppose since he has their songs as handphone alarm, they shouldn’t be that bad right? We have quite a good seats, but there is really nothing I can complaint about ‘cos these are the seats available.
Thanks to Jiaxin got for me through her network in the entertainment industry. If not for her, I won’t even have this experience. So, big thanks!!
I din’t know how or what to expect in a pop concert. I have been to countless musicals, but not once to pop concerts.
When the lights went down, the screen starts to runs the opening video, the entire stadium is sublimed in a hue of blue shimmering from every light stick.
When every action n expression of the performer receives multiplied times of reaction from the crowd. All through the night, I jumped, sang and shouted, letting myself go, letting loose…
I will drag darling to join me in the jumping n singing when it’s a song we know. N he is quite gamed for it..
I thought it will just be a rock concert, but little am I prepared for the sea of emotions that come gushing at me.
Wtf. I teared many times.
I guess it might be the singing with another 10,000 pple together can unleash the ill-fitted mask city ppl wears to meet everyday life.
It’s powerful.
Also, it gotta be the impact of those lyrics.
Every lines is like slapping my face for doing what I am doing now. They says “Dreams are crazy, but some ppl persists.
In the life you are leading now, everything has a tempo, even brushing of teeth, living the life like a machine.” Isn’t that what I am actually feeling?
Mayday commands my respect ‘cos they write their own songs, they inject their true feelings into the song right at the birth of the songs from hymning the tune to seeing the image or feeling the feeling and later on, translate that feeling into lyrics.
Many of their songs are not just about love and romance, the very princess girly romantic image. But a real life depict of problems and traps and words of encouragements. That make them real.
They aren’t idols.
I can wave goodbyes to them.
They are just humans with married with kids, not goddess, leading a normal life and I can support their music cos they are real.
They aren’t idols who once their underground love life is dugged out by paparazzi, comes to light, their shine turns dull.
I guess I am pretty addicted to their concert and will make it a yearly pilgrimage!
Way to go, Mayday!
